Re: Repair for vulnerable elderly Is 151 not still the number for faults? Used to be open 24/7 - 365 Days a Year. Wasn’t perfect but it worked and the Helpdesk Agents were trained to understand line faults/conditions. They could have raised a Welfare Cases directly with Openreach for the fault to be bumped up to a CL4, aka Care Level 4.

Re: how do I report a fault for someone else @circuitbender Report it as a phone fault using the phone fault repair number 0800 800 151. Do not mention the broadband fault, as that will result in it going into the wrong queue, and will delay the repair. Just report it as no dial done, unable to make or receive calls.

Re: Elderly Mother's phone not working. Trying to report it to BT is hopeless. No person to speak to If you have a working phone box nearby, then calling 0800 800 151, should prompt you for the number you are calling about. Either that, see if a neighbour, who is not on BT or EE, will allow you to call 0800 800 151.

Re: cannot get through to elderly relative on landline All I can suggest is to ring the 0800 800 151 number, do not select any options, and you may get an answer from a real person.

Re: Vulnerable, elderly, isolated relative no landline, can't raise fault The 151 number used to first ask you what number you were calling about, but perhaps that no long happens? You could try withholding your number when you call, to see if it helps. Or even try from a phone box, if you can find one.
