1980 Septic Tank Design

In looking at tank design it appears the inlet should be a little higher in the tank (drum) than the outlet and a "T" on the pipes may be a good idea. (google "septic tank design") Only difference would be in capacity.

Going to do the septic system on the home. Going with the infiltrator chamber system and a 2,000 GAL concrete (two chamber) tank. Should I go with a Distribution Box or the installer offered an alternative that doesn't use a D-Box but just feeds directly into the leach fields first line? I am...

My belief is that the septic drain field must be aerobic, i.e., enough oxygen from the air for oxygen breathing bacteria to work on the waste. The tank itself is anerobic, and contains a different type of bacteria.

I have a small (500 gal) septic tank servicing a little guest room and am adding a graywater perforated drainpipe/field horizontally off the tank. On the side of the tank is a cylindrical cowling or flange (collar ?) that protrudes out from the side of the tank wall maybe 3 inches. It is...
