Here in Colorado Armslist isnt too bad. If I was trying to sell on Armslist I'd include contact info in the ad so non-paying lookers can contact me. I think Armslist is still viable if the seller works it right. I've bought guns off it at least a year including pawnshop sellers.
Scammers aren't really the problem on Armslist. Yeah, there are scammers. But Armslist is intended for local, face to face transactions. Kinda hard to get scammed face to face. My biggest complaint about Armslist is the flakes (someone who says, "I'll take it." And then POOF, just disappears) and the tire kickers (someone who asks 100 questions and/or asks for a ton of additional photos, but ...
Yep, that was another "choice" thing about Armslist - 98% of the ads (like THOUSANDS of them) were all from this drop-shipping lowlife "dealer" in the southern part of the state who had zero in stock but suckered buyers with talk about his "warehouses" (distributors). It was an odd name - a common name, but started with a Z instead.
The problem is people who use Armslist in a way it wasn't intended to be used - long distance transactions. They don't follow the Armslist rules, then cry and blame Armslist when they end up getting scammed. If people would use Armslist the way it was intended, scammers would never have been a significant problem.

Just stay away from anyone who wants to do a long distance transaction, and scammers shouldn't be a problem. - Low-ballers offering something ridiculously below the asking price. - There are some real idiots out there. My ads are brief and to the point.
Armslist has some of the most ridiculous prices I've seen. I use EE, Vaguntrader, and occasionally Gunbroker.
There seems to be not a single person on ArmsList willing to deal with an FFL. Every time I try to sell something and ask people for their FFLs address they...
I understand that Armslist is under assault and duress , but the processing of an account upgrade is essentially the function of a computer program , isn't it? For the site to recognize the initiation of such a transaction immediately but then fail to process it for 3 weeks makes no sense.
Apparently as of this morning you cannot contact a seller without a paid account. You cannot create a listing, or even access your current listings without a paid account.I have been using Armslist f
