The Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) is a national, independent, not-for-profit, fee-for-service organization that provides a fair, objective and transparent application and matching service for medical training throughout Canada.
CaRMS was created in 1970 by medical students and faculty as an independent, objective body to facilitate this process. We leverage our extensive knowledge and expertise to match applicants and training programs in a fair, competitive process in which outcomes are determined by the choices they make.
Canada will welcome 3,873 graduating students and physicians into residency training programs after this year’s R-1 Main Residency Match (R-1 match), the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) announced today. A total of 3,014 Canadian medical graduates (CMGs) were matched to residency programs this year, across both iterations.
