Contracting Officers are responsible for deciding if they need an individual to serve as their authorized representative (i.e., COR) for purposes of monitoring the technical or administrative aspects of contractor performance during the life-cycle of the contract. FAR 1.602-2 (d), DFARS 201.602-2 (d) and PGI 201.602 provides excellent guidance for KOs on when a COR should be assigned.
