There are seven different sub-species of canada geese. In NW Oregon, hunters are required to study and pass a test in order to hunt canada geese to avoid shooting the dusky sub-species. Geese do not like ducks. Ducks don't seem to care about the geese often landing right within them. We always set up goldeneyes bufflheads and bluebills with some geese closer to shore up later season and it does not bother the ducks one bit.
