As we all know, gas cans need to be vented with elevation and temperature changes. Until somewhat recently (in California at least) gas cans had a little plastic snap-to-close vent cap that would pop open on its own if pressures became too great. You'd get some minimal gas splashing out that little hole.

It could explain the same mileage as E10. It's less about cost to me and more about the waste of water to produce etoh for gas. Simply put, I don't like the concept of putting food into gas. If you want to continue to subsidize corn farmers, fine, but the corn produced should be made into food and transported to countries where people are starving.
