I assume they lay green eggs, because of the name. Also our chicks name is Sam (short for Samantha) but we named it that because of the book Green eggs and ham. Anyway, any information would be helpful. I’m a little worried ‘she’ might be a ‘he’ because how quickly ‘her’ comb is growing, but it might just be the breed.
Only with ham. Of course you can. Just an egg color. The only time you don't want to eat green eggs is if the green is on the inside.
Well only 1 of the five is laying green lol. I even have a almost cream colored egg. 1 egg is not pictured it’s a peachy brown. Even if the remaining 3 chickens that have not laid yet have green eggs that’s 50%. Has this happened to anyone else with this breed? I do enjoy the rainbow colors but would like a few more green eggs to go with my ham
Green eggs and ham? lol- Did you see the spots on the eggs before frying them? Laugh but I have kids that wash dishes and always leave food in the pans and I always re-wash before frying my eggs.

Which breeds lay green eggs? I've heard Aurecaunas and Amerecaunas can, I've also heard crossing Marans with anything that lays blue eggs can produce green eggs, I find this information quite dubious though. We want colorful easter eggs for sure, but we're trying to avoid the "mystery grab bag" that "Amerecauna" hatcheries apparently often are.
An eggshell takes roughly 20 hours to form, while pigmentation takes another five hours. Originally, all eggs are white. Eggs change color as a result of the internal dyeing process. Certain chicken breeds, however, have pigments that turn their eggs blue, brown, or green, among other colors. On most eggs, however, only the shell is colored.
