Based on this model, the effects of process parameters such as wheel speed, feed rate, and grinding depth on the grinding force, temperature field, thermal stress field, mechanical stress field, and residual stress are systematically studied.

Grinding is a machining process that used grinding wheels as the cutting tool. The heat generation in grinding is significant high as there are a lot of small cutting edges on the grinding wheel. Each of them produces the friction when in contact with the workpiece. It is recommended to use flood coolants for such an application. There are various ways to achieve good machining outcomes with ...

Cup wheel is widely used in high-efficiency deep grinding due to their high material removal rate and low damage when machining hard and brittle mater…

To address this gap, this review systematically consolidates recent advancements in ultrasonic-assisted grinding (UAG) technology from three critical perspectives of development of UAG techniques and device, grinding-induced surface integrity evolution, and surface service performance (Fig. 1).

Grinding is the most widely used high-efficiency and low-cost finishing process in the manufacturing industry. 1 During grinding, the interaction between the grinding wheel and workpiece generates grinding force at sliding, elastic/plastic deformation, and chip-forming stages. 2, 3 Grinding force is an important parameter to measure grinding performance, and it has a direct impact on wheel ...

Grinding is a material finishing process, influenced by the distribution and shape of the abrasive grits. Past studies have idealized the grit geometry or assumed a smooth grinding wheel without the grit for the simulation of the grinding process.

This paper systematically reviews damage mechanisms in SiC-based FRCMCs grinding, starting from the scratching behaviours to the grinding process analysis, with a focus on material feature effects, scratching tests, fracture mechanics, and grinding kinematics.
