Kilt Costume Ideas

I've recently visited a Lodge under the supervision of the Grand Lodge of Scotland for their annual open day. The Worshipful Master was wearing a kilt. Is that something that happens in every Lodge within the Grand Lodge of Scotland of just a personal choice for the annual event?

I own several kilts, traditional and the cotton Utilikilt type. I'll wear one to lodge once in a while. Apparently, Texas is actually one of the highest selling states for kilt companies. I'll say that it's one of the best ways to beat the heat!

A dress kilt, if one has a family tartan, also is sometimes seen. I agree with other commenting brethren that a tux can often be had on the cheap, however like many of them, I cannot speak for South Africa. When I was raised, I wore a business suit but my father, who did the raising, wore a tux as well as the officers.
