According to a learning Chinese podcast, I was told that I can just say - 下雨 - it's raining. But when I checked Google Translate, it said 下雨了 Are both correct?
"It has been raining" means that it was raining, and it is still raining now.|Hmm… I am confused too! I understood the phrase "has been raining” to mean that it was raining, and still it raining now. In my opinion, the picture looks like it "had been raining" meaning it was raining, but it stopped. I see what the book is doing though.
