Seriously considering going down from a 3" 12 gauge to a 2 3/4" 12 gauge for ducks. Would like to hear from folks that have used both or are using 2 3/4" now. Particularly interested if your cripple rate went up and if you feel you are killing as many as before. Also what ammo are you using...

ive been using 2 shot 1 9/16 oz. with a velocity of 1430. is 2 shot an all around shot for ducks? using an improved cylinder choke. whats your guys favourite shot and oz?
I've shot thousands of ducks with 1 3/8 oz BB loads. Caveat: anything less than 1 3/8 oz for Ducks will leave you short in the pellet count department, and you need 90+% 40 yard patterns for the load to be effective on ducks. Sure, the holes you rip in em will be bigger, but then there'll also be less of em. For fat mallards, it's a good load.
